In this sample you hear a recording from inside a well sound insulated room, directly under the roof of a house. Strong rain hints the roof and produces low frequency muted sounds. In the background you hear the constant noise of the rain, coming through the window. There are also a few raindrops hitting the glass of the window. The sample was recorded using the built-in stereo microphone of a zoom h4n recorder. It was slightly processed to remove unwanted low and high frequencies which were not related to the actual recording. This is actually my favorite sound yet! there was a church clock going off at the time i was recording this, but, alas, i foolishly did not have my windscreen on, and i had to edit it out. Loopable.

An early spring bird-recording trip turned into a surprise, steady rain. (*actually, it should not have been a surprise, i just was too lazy to check the weather before i went out exploring nature!). I set up my zoom h4n recorder partially under a picnic table and recorded this wonderful, peaceful light rain falling in a small field of very large white pines, which were growing on a penninsula of a small lake. July 2013, rcording from setup pc in greenhouse. Extreme rain changing to hail (25 mm diamter)for a couple of minutes, then rain again. Last bit of recording is sound from pc fan. Did not cut it off, wanted to let listeners understand that i made a temporary installation in the greenhouse for capturing the immense noise.

I recorded this sound in a large greenhouse where all the plants were getting watered by an automatic system. You can hear the leaves getting hit by water. It might also sound like rain to some if you disregard the background noise of the water rushing through the little streams.

A few loud sounds in the beginning, one massive and loud lightning and thunder. You can even hear the lightning crack before the thunder. Distant thunder follows with some birds chirping at the end. Recorded on a h4n zoom at 48khz 24bit.

There is a vent in my house that sounds fantastic when it rains. The drops hitting the tin cover sound almost like popping popcorn in this recording, but it's a more friendly sound in person. The rain outside is very much present in the background, but the bouncing raindrops are very easy to hear. Recorded on a windows x8 phone and left as-is. Rain ambiance in the backyard of an nyc townhouse on a quiet saturday morning may, as heard from under a tree in the middle of the yard. Recorded on may 29, 2021 in the backyard of a north shore townhouse in staten island, ny with the on-board x-y mic of a zoom h4n pro.

This recording was made in the afternoon during a rainshower under my carport in louisiana. The rain is striking three different surfaces in this track: cement, roofing and plantlife. Now, i'm no pro, nor is my equipment (olympus ws-310m w/ built in mic), so discerning these different sounds is difficult. You can hear the dripping from rain: fast drip in the background of this track. However slight, there is also a noticeable electronic note which is simultaneous with the water striking these surfaces. You can also hear slight rustling sounds that could be wind or my shirt moving near the mic (i was wearing the device on a lanyard). The file is wav, recorded in stereo at 16 bit at 44. 1mhz.

I record this raining ambient sound using mobile phone. Hope it help you to create good films/movie.

11/29/2018 - burbank, california. Rain, flooding, and mudslides come to california when a sudden storm hit today. Most people got off the freeways quickly and tried to protect their homes from water damage. This recording was recorded with a zoomh4npro (2018) set at 120 degree field-pattern mode. The zoom was placed on a tripod facing out a 3rd floor window into a dead-end alleyway below. This recording is great atmospheric sound. The water can be heard trickling off spanish tile rooftops and dripping from overflowing terracotta pots. From the passing cars on a distant highway, to the occasional cough of a homeless gentleman walking on the street below, this recording is genuine and clean. Imagine adding that sound of a metal garbage can and a shrieking cat in the night! a sound that's great for sleeping or portraying a dark alley in gotham!. Enjoy!. Christopher c. Courter.

Recording of a thunderstorm in a narrow backyard between houses, berlin 20. 6. 2013. The wind and rain is whipping the plastic coverings of a construction site at one house, some things fall down from the scaffold. The rain becomes more and more heavy and loud, the raindrops beat down on the leaves of a chestnut tree and the plastic sheets. Recorded out of the top window of the ground floor with a roland r-05 mounted on a tripod.

It's not rain but sounds like rain - fog and damp settling in the trees as a breeze blows. Recorded in the fields above my home in the fog and damp - so sounds amplified and 'hollow'. Chldren were playing in the neighbour when a low lightning activity thunderstorm came to pécel and lasted for 1-2 hours. It produced 10 mm of moderate rain and bright intracloud lightning. Recorded by my sony stereo dictaphone. The storm arrival had a little disaster movie impression for me.
